For the integrated unit that controls the key interlock system (this prevents the key from being removed from the ignition unless the shift lever is in the parking position.), the electrical circuit is not properly designed. Therefore, if it is repeatedly tried to remove the ignition key whilst the shift lever is not in the parking position, the electrical circuit may be damaged. If this occurs, the key interlock system could fail to function, which could make it possible to remove the key whilst the shift lever is not in the parking position. If the key is removed while the shift lever is not in the parking position and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could start moving whilst parked.
