On certain vehicles, the rectifier in the alternator is defective in manufacturing. Because of this, its resin part may deflate breaking the electrical continuity of the rectifier circuit causing a spark, when the engine temperature rises due to the conditions such as a long hour drive in slow traffic, which causes the resin part of the rectifier to be overheated. If left unfixed, the circuit may get fused, and also the resin part of the rectifier may start fuming, leading to a loss of electricity generation. At worst, the vehicle stalls.

Correction: 
A spring washer should be installed in order to keep the continuity of the rectifier circuit. Furthermore, inspect the condition of the rectifier, and if any damage is found, the alternator should be replaced with a new one.
