On certain vehicles with diesel engine, the blade grooves on the rotor of the vacuum pump, which generates negative pressure for the vacuum brake booster, are defective in manufacturing. If left unfixed, the carbon blades may wear, and in the worst case, they could get damaged, in which case negative pressure cannot be generated resulting in reduced braking efficiency.
