For vehicles with variable valve timing engine, there is a glitch concerning kick down control in the computer program that controls the automatic transmission, and because of it, depressing the acceleration pedal hard to accelerate the vehicle can cause the engine revs to climb too high, and acceleration noise could exceed the regulatory value.

The computer that controls the automatic transmission should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit. The serial/lot number to be recalled is ZL10 18 881A and ZL10 18 881B, and the factory approved replacement unit number is ZL10 18 881C.
