On certain vehicles, the gas-generating chemical in the inflator module for the driver's airbag is defective in manufacturing, and it may break down if it is repeatedly exposed to sudden temperature changes. If this occurs, the pressure in deploying the airbag is likely to be high, and in the worst case the chemical container could break, adversely affecting the effects of airbag deployment
