RJ-0593-0

For compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, the safety valves, which are to reduce the internal pressure of the fuel tanks when the tanks temperature is high, do not have an appropriate structure. Therefore, the safety valves may be activated at a lower temperature than the specified threshold level, releasing the fuel, when they are exposed to a high temperature, such as when refueling at a high ambient temperature.

Case Number:

Make/model:

Issued:
Thu, 1999-10-21
