The headlights switch terminals can be moved by turning on/off the headlights due to the improper surface finishing of the terminals, and this could cause contact resistance to increase. At worst, the connecting coupler melts and disrupts electrical continuity causing the headlights to fail.

Correction:
The headlights switch should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit, and the female terminals of the headlights wiring should be replaced with new ones. If the coupler is damaged, it should be replaced with a new one.
