For the air parking brake, the wheel cylinder boots may not have sufficient air-tightness and may allow water to enter inside. If this problem is left unattended, the moving sections of the wedge guides may rust and get stuck. If this occurs, it may happen that the parking brake is not released, and in which case, brake fade would occur.

Correction: 
(1) The rods should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units, and the boots should be replaced with new ones and the bands should be additionally installed. (2) The moving sections of the wedge guides should be inspected, and for the ones with rust, the wheel cylinder that includes the wedge guide, and the diaphragm should be replaced with new ones.
