On certain steering units, the fixing nut on the hydraulic pressure control unit inside the steering gear box may be defective in manufacturing. If this problem is left unattended, the performance of the hydraulic power steering system may be compromised, and in the worst case, steering would become impossible.

Correction: 
The serial/lot number on the steering gear box should be checked, and if it is between 7Z01088 and 8202117 (The first digit '7' stands for the year 1997 and '8' for the year 1998, the second digit 'Z' stands for December and '1' for January and '2' for February, the third and forth digits represent the manufacturing day, and the fifth, sixth and seventh digits represent the serial number during the manufacturing day.), the steering gear box should be replaced with a non-defective one.
