On certain vehicles, rust-proofing oil can penetrate into the contact point of the brake lights switch due to the improper application of the oil on the brake pedal. The oil may be carbonized by sparks at the contact point of the switch when the brake pedal is operated, in which case electrical continuity on the contact point is disrupted and the brake lights could fail.

Correction:
