The terminals in the ground joint connector (for the EGI main relay and fog lights etc.) can melt from current heat because they do not have sufficient tolerance to temperature, and in which case electrical continuity is lost at the terminals resulting in loss of grounding. If this occurs, (1) activating the direction indicators etc, can cause the lights (direction indicators and width indicators etc.) and in some vehicle cases the wipers to fail to work properly, or (2) illuminating the hazard lights or the fog lights or in some vehicle cases activating the window washer can cause the EGI main relay to fail to function properly, and as a result the engine could stall.
