On certain vehicles, the power steering hydraulic hose does not have sufficient heat shield measure. Because of this, heat degradation may occur on the hose, affected by the heat from the exhaust pipe if long hour travels at high speed or driving up on a steep etc. are repeated. If left unfixed, the hose may get damaged, causing hydraulic oil to leak, and this makes steering heavier. At worst, the hydraulic oil is spattered on the exhaust pipe, leading to a fire.
