On certain vehicle, the fuel pipe from the fuel tank to the engine is not properly routed, and therefore it may interfere with the air duct of the air conditioner. If this problem is left unattended, the fuel pipe may wear, and in the worst case, a puncture could occur allowing air to mix in, in which case the engine could stop and would not restart.
