RJ-1635-0

For the starter systems of big shuttle buses, hardness of the flywheel ring gear is not sufficient and length of the wire in the activation circuit for the starter magnetic switch is not adequate. For these reasons, the starter pinion and the flywheel ring gear may collide and interfere with each other when starting the engine, and the edges of the gear teeth may be damaged or broken from the wrong meshing. If this occurs, it becomes difficult or impossible to start the engine, and repeating engine starting operations could cause a fire in the worst case. Note: This problem was reported in RJ-1222-0, submitted on 15th September 2004, but the vehicles to be recalled were not correctly accounted for, so this recall is to add some vehicles to the recall list.
