The engine control wires may be worn and damaged at bending points from abrasion against the wire protection tubes (corrugate tubes), because the wire sheath does not have sufficient abrasion resistance. If this problem is left unattended, a short circuit or a disconnection may occur, in which case the engine could stop and at worst it would not restart. Note: This problem was reported in RJ-1239-0, submitted on 22nd September 2004, but the vehicles to be recalled were not correctly accounted for, so this recall is to add some vehicles to the recall list.
