RJ-1706-0

On certain vehicles, there may a residue of lubricant on the contact points of the brake switch. The lubricating component of such lubricant may be oxidized due to the heat generated by electrical transmission at the contact points, and as a result of this, contact resistance of the contact portions may rise. If this occurs and electric load on the contact points is small, electrical continuity may be lost, in which case the brake lights and the auxiliary brake lights may fail to illuminate.
