The bends on the fuel pipes may create too much stress on the welded sections. This excessive stress, together with corrosive components in the fuel, may cause microscopic cracks in the fuel line. If this problem is left unattended, a small fluctuation of fuel pressure may cause the cracks to grow, which in the worst case could lead to a fuel leak.
