For vehicles with vinyl floor mats, the shape of the lower end of the accelerator pedal is not appropriate, and therefore, if the pedal is repeatedly depressed with excessive force pushing the floor, the floor mat may get torn. If this occurs, in the worst case, the pedal may get stuck in the hole, which could make it impossible to lower the engine revs.

Correction:
The accelerator pedal should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit. Also, the floor mat should be checked, and if it is torn, it should be replaced with a new one.
