The exhaust pipe and the PDF of certain vehicles may not be aligned correctly at the joint, due to an improper installation method of the pipe. As a result of this, high stress may be imposed on the accordion section of the pipe, and such stress combined with the effects of engine vibration etc, may cause cracks. If this problem is left unattended, there is a risk that the leaked exhaust gas may cause damage on the exhaust brake hose and the level of noise may increase.

Correction:
The installation of the exhaust pipe should be inspected with the special tool. If the pipe and the PDF are not connected at the right position, the exhaust pipe bracket and the accordion section of the pipe should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units, and the exhaust brake hose should be replaced with a new one.
