The electrical circuit for tail lamps and fog lamps is not properly designed, and therefore, the electrical current that runs through the tail lamp relay can exceed a particular threshold and cause the contact points in the relay to heat up, in which case the plastic parts and the connector sections may deform. If this problem is left unattended, a contact failure may occur and the lamps such as the tail lamps could fail to illuminate.
