Due to a problem in the ABS control software, the braking power may be reduced when the ABS cuts in. Therefore, when a driver steps on a brake pedal, driving over an icy or bumpy road, there may be a delay in pedal feel and/or a brake lag. If the amount of pressure on the pedal is not increased in these circumstances, there may be an unexpected increase in the braking distance.

Correction: 
The ABS control software should be modified. The caution notice about this problem should be sent to the vehicle owners. For Prius (PHV), SAI and Lexus HS250h, the software modification should be done as soon as the update program becomes available. Note: The caution notice includes the following information; 1) in case of a delay in pedal feel and/or a brake lag, the driver is advised to brake harder, 2) when ABS cuts in, the driver is advised to keep braking hard without delay.
