For the bolt on the universal joint that connects the steering shaft and the gear box, it may not be tightened properly on certain vehicles, and therefore, dry steering can cause the bolt to loosen, which may generate abnormal noise. If this problem is left unattended, the engagement of the joint may get misaligned, which could make normal steering impossible.
