On certain vehicles, the fit between the bush rod and the ratchet that holds the parking brake lever may not be good, because the fit-in segment of the ratchet does not have a proper shape. Therefore, the fit-in segment of the bush rod may be ground off during parking brake operations, which could cause the joint to come off. If this occurs, the engagement of the parking brake lever could be greatly reduced, and there is a risk that the parking brake cannot hold the position or that the parking brake is suddenly released.
