For the forward clutch of CVT, the snap ring that holds the clutch may come off the groove with repeated sudden acceleration and/or deceleration due to improper fabrication of the groove. If this occurs, the clutch will slip and the vehicle will not accelerate properly, and in the end, the clutch will wear out and the vehicle will not be able to move forward.
