For manual transmission vehicles, the gear shift cable clip, which keeps the cable in place, may interfere with the gear shift control housing when the gear is shifted, because the clip does not have an appropriate shape. If this problem is left unattended, the clip may break, and in the worst case, the gear shift cable might separate from the gear shift control lever, which would make a gear shift impossible.
