There is a gap between the rear part of the bonnet and the rubber seal for waterproofing, and water directed onto the gap with high pressure during washing etc. can reach the alternator or the engine surface, and penetrate into the revolution sensor connector inside the alternator or the terminal of the engine ignition plug. This can cause the engine warning light to illuminate and the vehicle to run on the electricity for fail safe operation, or it can cause the ignition plug to fail to ignite thus the engine will not function properly exceeding the exhaust emissions standards.

For the torque sensor on the electric power steering rack, which controls the power assist operation, insufficient contact pressure can be exerted, due to the improper surface finishing of the electrical contacts. If this happens, the sensor may not generate the proper signals, and in the worst case, the warning light is illuminated and the power assist system fails to work properly.
