For the front hub bearings of 4WD vehicles, the structure of the knuckles where the bearings are force fitted is improper, and therefore, muddy water can remain there and cause the oil seal to wear and lose its effectiveness. In such a case, the muddy water may enter into the bearing, which can force the grease out of the bearings leading to abnormal noise. If this problem is left unattended, in the worst case, the bearings could break causing the vehicle to stall.

Correction: 
The knuckles should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units that includes the bearings. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the factory approved replacement units, and therefore as a temporary measure, the bearings should be inspected for wear, and the one with abnormality should be replaced with a new.
