On certain vehicles, the ball joint brackets for the transverse links of the shock absorbers are not properly shaped in manufacturing, and therefore they may crack from the repeated shocks experienced by the vehicle as it travels down the road. If the vehicle continues to be driven with such a cracked bracket, the bracket may break causing the tyre and the wheelhouse to interfere with each other, and this could adversely affect the vehicle's stability.
