For the rod that is to lock the parking gear of the automatic transmission, on certain vehicles, the spring may be secured at an improper position. With such a spring, setting the shift lever to the parking position may not make the parking function work though rare, and in the worst case the vehicle could start to move. Incidentally, if the parking brake is also used, the vehicle will not start to move.
