The bolts fitted at the vehicle body end of the tailgate support struts may loosen due to insufficient torque. If this problem is left unattended, the bolts may start to rattle, and in the worst case, the welded sections of the brackets could come off or the bolts could break, and in either case, the struts could separate from the vehicle body and the tailgate could fall off from its widest open position. This recall is to change the vehicle listings and the countermeasures of RJ-1150-0 submitted on 2nd July 2004, because in which the vehicles to be recalled were not fully accounted for and the countermeasures were not adequate.
