The engine control wires should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units that include the wire protection tubes (roll tubes). Incidentally, for the wires connected to the fuel injection pump, the sheath should be inspected and the following measures should be taken depending on the conditions. (1) If any of the wire cores is exposed from damage, the fuel pump assembly should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit. (2) If the wires are damaged but there is no exposed core, the wires should be repaired and the wire protection tubes should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. (3) If there is no damage, the wire protection tubes should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units.
