On certain A/T parking mechanisms of vehicles with 4 speed automatic transmissions (the mechanism is to mechanically secure the output shaft of the automatic transmission), the shift lever may not be properly manufactured, and therefore, it may interfere with the valve body when it is placed in the parking position, in which case the parking pole and the parking gear may not engage properly. If the vehicle is parked on a hill without applying the parking brake, the gear may come under a lot of pressure, and in the worst case, the vehicle might start moving.
