There is a glitch in the hydraulic pressure control program of the automatic transmission control unit, and therefore, the lubrication in the automatic transmission may not be properly maintained. If this problem is left unattended, the needle bearing of the pinion gear may break. If such breakage occurs, a fragment of the bearing may be caught in the gear, and this may cause the surrounding parts to wear. If abrasion powder blocks the oil strainer, the hydraulic pressure may drop, and this could make gear changing impossible and in the worst case cause the vehicle to stall.
