On certain vehicles, there is not sufficient gap between the hook and the collar (metal tube for the pin) in the safety catch on the bonnet. For this reason, the hook may fail to operate if dust is accumulated on its operational part. If this happens and the vehicle is driven with the bonnet (main) catch not secured, in the worst case, the bonnet blows open.
