On certain vehicles, there is a manufacturing defect in the support pipe at the lower part of the steering column of the steering unit. If unfixed and run at high temperature, this defect causes adhesive strength between the bearing and the column pipe to decrease. At worst, the bearing comes out place, and the vechicle loses a smooth steering operation and gives off interfering sounds.

A clamp to brace the bearing should be installed. Before installing the bracing clamp, the bearing should be fixed if it is out of place.
