The bolt securing the crankshaft pulley may become loose because it is not properly tightened. If left unfixed, in the worst case, the bolt comes off or breaks, causing the pulley to fall off.

For vehicles that already have the engine with the material improved crankshaft pulley bolt, the bolt should be tightened to the correct torque specification after applying oil onto its head bearing surface and threads. For other vehicles, the bolt should be replaced with the factory approved replacement one, and it should be tightened to the correct torque specification after applying oil onto its head bearing surface and threads.
