On certain vehicles, the welding positions are out of alignment, and so the welded sections may not have sufficient strength. Such welded sections may come off, and in the worst case, the propeller shaft might rotate without conveying power, causing the vehicle to stall.

The welding positions (enclosed in an oval on the diagram) should be checked, and if they do not meet the standard, the propeller shaft should be replaced with a new one.
