The inside diameter of the shift lever pipe is partially too small in manufacturing. As a result, on certain vehicles, it may happen that the lock pin rod interferes with the pipe and will not go back to its position even when the shift lever is put in the Park (P) position and the push button is released. If this problem occurs, the parking switch will not function, and therefore putting the shift lever in the Park (P) position will not activate the interlock, which could cause the ignition key to be stuck in the ignition keyhole, or/and the lock system on the steering wheel to fail.
