On certain drivers' airbags, the impact sensor inside the control unit has bad soldering, and the soldered section may crack, which can cause the airbag warning light illuminate. If this problem is left unattended, the airbag may be deployed from impact caused by hitting the horn strongly or driving over a deep pothole and so on. Note: This recall is for vehicles whose passenger seats are not fitted with airbags, excluding Imprezas with turbo engines.

Correction: 
The serial/lot number on the control unit should be checked, and if it is the one to be recalled, the control unit should be replaced with a non-defective one. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the non-defective units, and therefore, as a temporary measure the caution note in case of the warning light's illuminating should be sent to the users, and the replacements should be prioritized for the vehicles whose warning lights are on.
