On certain vehicles, the transmission shift cable is kinked due to the incorrect angle of the improperly structured clamp in the middle of the cable. If left unfixed, the wire inside the cable may break from fatigue, which will prevent gear shifting.

Correction:
The clamp should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit. If the cable is kinked, it should be replaced with a new one. It is likely to take time to supply all the factory approved replacement parts, so as a temporary measure, the angle of the clamp should be checked, and if it is incorrect and the cable is kinked, the cable should be replaced with a new one and the clamp should be repositioned in the correct angle.
