The muffler does not have sufficient strength against exhaust gas pressure, and the welding inside the muffler is not adequate. If left unfixed, the welded section may break and allow the exhaust gas to leak, and the heat of the exhaust gas can cause the surrounding parts to melt, which in the worst case could result in a fire.

The muffler and the heat shield should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. Incidentally, it will take time to supply all the factory approved replacement units, and therefore as a temporary measure, the muffler should be inspected, and if any crack or damage is found, the replacements should be carried out, and otherwise, they should be done at later date.
