For compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, the O-ring in the high pressure regulator may be deformed or damaged, because the O-ring does not have sufficient hardness and because the measurement of the valve sheet is improper. The deformed or damaged high pressure regulator may allow the high pressure fuel gas to flow into the low pressure regulator, and the gas could leak from the safety valve.
