On certain vehicles, there is not sufficient grease on the friction sections of the front latch crank levers, which open the latches on the sliding doors, because the levers were improperly assembled, and water may enter around such levers while driving in rain etc. and freeze. If the sliding doors are opened with the front latch crank levers in such a condition, the levers may stay in a release position and prevent the doors from closing securely.
