On certain transverse gearboxes that were replaced in the past recall, some of the oil holes are not through or are too small because of core sand left inside the holes at the casting process. If this problem is left unattended, the outer bearing could burn out due to a lack of lubrication, and in the worst case the vehicle would stall. This recall is submitted, because some of the replaced units in the RJ-1261-0 recall (submitted on 13th October 2004) were defective.
