For large size trucks with manual transmission, the flywheel, which transfers the power of the engine to the torque converter, may crack around the base section, because its improper shape causes localized stress at high engine revolutions. If this problem is left unattended, the crack may grow, and at worst, the flywheel could break, in which case it would become impossible to restart the engine or the vehicle would stall.
