The AT shift lever, and the detent pin and/or the lock pin may rattle or be sagging due to the imperfect processing of the lever. Therefore, even after moving the shift lever to the 'P' position, the range may remain 'R' at the automatic transmission side, and in the worst case, the vehicle could start to move backwards.

Correction: 
The AT shift control assembly and the shift control cable should be replaced with the factory approved replacement units. Incidentally, it is likely to take time to supply all the factory approved replacement units, and therefore for the temporary measure, the caution plates that state warnings for the 'P' range use should be sent to the vehicle owners to notify this problem.
