This recall is about the reverse light switch installed on a lower part of the manual transmission, and it only applies to vehicles with manual transmission. (1) It may not be sufficiently sealed due to burrs left from molding the switch axis. Therefore, lubricant inside the transmission may enter into the switch, which could cause the resistance between the contact points to increase, and in the worst case, the reverse lights could fail. (2) It might have deformed, which could result in the lack of contact pressure between the contact points, due to improper installation at factory. Therefore, the contact points may prematurely wear due to arc discharges, and if the wear becomes more serious, in the worst case, the reverse lights could fail.
