(1) For the telescopic mechanism of the steering unit (it allows a driver to adjust the position of the steering wheel by sliding it forward or backward.), too much lubricant was applied and it may fall onto the brake light switch. If this occurs and the lubricant on the contact points turns into a sort of insulating material due to heat, the braking lights and the auxiliary braking lights might fail to illuminate and it might become impossible to shift the gear lever from the parking position. (2) For STREAMs only, there is a glitch in the computer program for the speedometer, and therefore, if the ignition switch is turned on at a particular timing after it is turned off, the speedometer may fail to function.

Correction:
(1) The brake light switch assembly and the connector at the electrical wiring end should be replaced with new ones. Also, the electrical wiring end terminal should be cleaned, and the brake light switch cover should be additionally installed. (2) The speedometer assembly should be replaced with the factory approved replacement unit.
