The bolts that secure the water pump pulley may loosen by stress from the load of the auxiliary belt and could eventually break, causing the auxiliary belt to come off. If this happens, electricity generation and cooling will suffer, in which case, the warning lights will illuminate, and the engine will stall and fail to restart.

For the front suspension systems of 4WD vehicles, foreign materials such as sand caught between the front coil spring and spring lower sheet may cause the paint of the spring to peel off, because the shape of the spring lower sheet is not well designed, and as a result of it, rust may occur. If this problem is left unattended, a snow-melting agent may cause the rust to progress, and the spring could eventually break. If such breakage occurs, the tyre may burst and the vehicle could stall.

(1) For the telescopic mechanism of the steering unit (it allows a driver to adjust the position of the steering wheel by sliding it forward or backward.), too much lubricant was applied and it may fall onto the brake light switch. If this occurs and the lubricant on the contact points turns into a sort of insulating material due to heat, the braking lights and the auxiliary braking lights might fail to illuminate and it might become impossible to shift the gear lever from the parking position.

For the electric power steering (EPS), the control unit may not function to the required standards, and the output voltage of the motor angle detection circuit in the unit may not be maintained. Therefore, the angle detection signals may fluctuate, and this may cause the fail-safe function to be activated. If this occurs, the EPS warning light may illuminate and the power assist may stop functioning, which could make the steering heavier.
