For the key interlock mechanism (this stops the ignition key being pulled out unless the AT shift lever is in the 'P' position), metal powder produced when caulking the key cylinder body cover might have deposited around the interlock lever due to the improper process of assembling the key cylinder body, and this may reduce the speed of the lever's move. Therefore, even when the AT shift lever is not in the 'P' position, it is possible to pull out the key, if it is done quickly.

On certain vehicles, the metal bands at both ends of the intake fuel hose are not sufficiently tightened due to the improper method of tightening, and therefore, the impact on the fuel tank in a collision etc. can cause fuel to leak.

KJ-0196-0

On certain vehicles, the bearing surface of the crankshaft where the timing belt guide plate touches is not large enough due to the improper processing. If left unfixed, the pulley bolt can become loose and cause abnormal noise, and in the worst case, the crank pulley could fail to convey the power, or the engine auxiliary belt could come off the crank pulley, and either can result in the illumination of the charge warning light and in heavier steering.

RJ-0517-0

On certain vehicles with an electronic fuel injection system, the resin-made part of the motor of the electronic fuel injection pump is inadequately formed. If left unfixed, the motor brush can wear, and in the worst case, the pump could stop functioning causing the engine to stall.

The headlights switch terminals can be moved by turning on/off the headlights due to the improper surface finishing of the terminals, and this could cause contact resistance to increase. At worst, the connecting coupler melts and disrupts electrical continuity causing the headlights to fail. Note: This recall is to include more vehicles in the past recall (case number RJ-769-0, submitted on 6 September 2001)

RJ-0432-0

On certain vehicles, the joint connecting the automatic transmission control cable with the shift lever rod does not have sufficient holding power, and therefore, operating the shift lever can cause the joint to separate. If this happens, a shift lever operation will not change the gear.

RJ-0733-0

For the engine starter solenoid switch, on certain vehicles, the electric terminal connecting to the battery is not properly installed. If left unfixed, the resin bush for insulation can deteriorate and crack. In such a condition of the terminal, if water containing salt etc. lands on it, a short circuit can occur, and in the worst case, the solenoid switch burns out, which could lead to a fire in the engine compartment.
